How is a dissertation formatted?
As previously discussed in our knowledge base, the layout of a dissertation is determined by means of a design proof. Once this has been done, this layout is applied throughout the entire manuscript. Chapter formatting in a dissertation
Once the formatting style has been established in the design proof, a designer will start working on the design of all chapters. Depending on the number of chapters being designed, this part of the layout process takes 1 to 2 weeks. After this period of 1 to 2 weeks, you will receive all formatted chapters of your dissertation at once. The designer will send these as a PDF file.
We recommend carefully reviewing and going through the PDF sent to you. We offer three rounds of corrections to further refine the design. You can submit corrections by making notes in the PDF sent by the designer. NB: It is important that the files provided are final at this time. This is because our designers must charge an additional hourly rate for implementing textual corrections in this final proof.
