How do correction rounds work?
At Persoonlijk Proefschrift, we structure the design process using rounds of revisions. The majority of the services we offer have a limited number of revision rounds. There are three reasons for this:
- It provides clarity on the amount of work we offer for our fixed prices;
- It gives you and your designer an idea of how far along you are in the process;
- It ensures that your designer (and you!) work efficiently by making the most of every round, rather than carrying work over to subsequent rounds.
The number of rounds of proofreading we offer is always tailored to the service you purchase from us. Our many years of experience have shown that, in most cases, three rounds are sufficient to get a thesis in tip-top condition. Simpler or more comprehensive services may involve more or fewer rounds.
What does a round of corrections involve?
A round of corrections consists of four steps:
- You will receive a file from your designer;
- You provide them with feedback. If the file is a PDF, you do this using PDF comments. Are you unfamiliar with this? Then read this article;
- Please send your feedback to the designer; this can be in the form of a PDF file containing your feedback.
What if I need more rounds of proofreading?
In the unlikely event that you need more rounds of corrections than anticipated, we are, of course, always happy to take on additional work. In that case, please discuss this with your designer. You’ll discuss together the amount of work that still needs to be done, and based on that, your designer will draw up a proposal for any additional costs. These costs are based on our hourly rate for extra work. If you agree to this proposal, your designer will get started on the next round of revisions. A designer will never incur any additional costs without your consent.
I only need a minor adjustment – do I still have to pay for the extra work?
Sometimes you might still spot a minor error right at the end of the process, even though you’ve already gone through all your rounds of corrections. We don’t want any additional costs to put you off correcting this after all. Read more here about our terms and conditions regarding additional work that falls outside the scope of the product you have purchased.
