Can I have a summary of my thesis drawn up?
In this article, we explain what a summary booklet is and describe how it is produced at Persoonlijk Proefschrift. A summary booklet is a supplement to your thesis that has become increasingly popular in recent years. In terms of content, it contains an extract from your thesis.

What is a summary booklet for?
The purpose of a printed thesis is evolving. It is not just a book for your fellow academics, but also something you want to share with your friends and family. A summary booklet offers the opportunity to give this group an insight into your research, with the following benefits:
- The booklet is more convenient;
- The print is more durable;
- Production is cheaper;
- You can limit yourself to content that is relevant to the general public.

What does a summary booklet contain?
A summary booklet usually contains the non-academic sections of your full thesis. This refers to everything apart from your articles or chapters. It may therefore include the following elements of your thesis:
- Introduction
- Foreword
- Summary in various languages
- Conclusion
- Afterword
- Acknowledgements
- Curriculum Vitae
- About the author
- Portfolio
In addition, many PhD students also include a QR code that links to a digital version of the thesis links.

What does a summary booklet look like?
At Persoonlijk Proefschrift, we base the design of a summary booklet on the designing your interior and the designing your cover. The cover design of your summary is the same as that of your thesis. The inside is formatted in the same way as your manuscript.
